Sources and method
Election results come from the open data of Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Our calculations and cited opinion polls are identified separately.
Data used
- Votes by candidate and turnout by municipality and electoral zone, general elections 1994–2026 and municipal elections 1996–2024 (cdn.tse.jus.br/estatistica/sead/odsele).
- Presidential votes per ballot box, 2002–2026; all-office ballot-box reports for both rounds of 2022 and 2026, according to imported coverage, with closing times and biometric releases.
- Candidate registry (consulta_cand), votes by party and the electorate profile (2018, 2022 and 2026).
- National totals checked against the official result: the sum of all ballot boxes equals the total published by TSE.
How to read the map
- Percentages are of valid votes (blank and null excluded).
- “Lula − Flávio gap” is one share minus the other, in points; negative values mean Flávio led.
- The change between rounds compares the same municipality in both rounds. Net totals do not show who switched.
- Votes abroad count in national totals but not on the municipality map.
How Confere answers
- Confere is an AI assistant. It looks up the data above for every question and shows each lookup next to the answer.
- It treats claims from any side the same way and compares each figure with earlier elections.
- It can make mistakes: check the cited source before sharing. Coverage includes 1989 presidential results by state, declared assets from 2018 to 2026, and campaign finance for 2022, 2024 and 2026. The 2026 accounts are partial. Incomplete logs disclose their coverage limits. Cited polls have their own sources and dates.
